Iran: Human Rights Organisations Demand Justice for 1988 Massacre

A joint statement has been sent to the current session of the Human Rights Council by six human rights organisations regarding justice for the summer of 1988 massacre of political prisoners by the Iranian regime.

During that summer, more than 30,000 political prisoners (most of whom were members or activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran – PMOI / MEK, were killed by the Iranian regime on the orders of the then-Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini who had issued a fatwa.

Once she was just another UK wife and mother, living in West Hampstead, on the banks of the River Thames. 

Life has become very different for Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who has finally been taken from her cell at Iran’s notorious Evin prison, to Iranmehr Hospital in Tehran.

There she was seen by a specialist neurologist for her back and neck, because without urgent treatment she runs the risk of permanent impairment.The doctor was concerned about Nazanin’s neck and shoulder, as well as the nerves in her right arm and hand. He said she should be admitted to hospital immediately, or she may be left with a permanent injury.

Iranian Scientist Remains Imprisoned and Faces Execution

In Iranian-born scientist who is now a resident of Sweden may be facing the death penalty in Iran. 

Ahmadreza Djalali, 45, a doctor who specialises in disaster medicine, was arrested last year while visiting Iran. He was on his way to visit family after attending a conference.

Iran Murdered Tens of Thousands of Political Prisoners Without Trial

A professor of political science at the University of Tehran, Sadeq Zibakalam, confirmed that the Iranian regime was responsible for the execution of thousands of members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) during the decade after the 1979 revolution. 

Zibakalam is a close confidant of the former head of Iran’s Expediency Council, Ali Akbar Hashem Rafsanjani.

Prominent Lawyer, Humanist and Distinguished French Writer, Thierry Levy, Deceased

Prominent lawyer, author, and steadfast defender of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran, Mr. Thierry Levy,  died Monday in Paris. Mr. Levy’s works are among the best-selling books in France.

He was an steadfast defender of the Iranian Resistance and its members. After the attack to the offices of the Iranian Resistance on June 17, 2003, and the case of the Iranian regime laughed against them, he courageously defended them, and along with other prominent lawyers, won a humiliating defeat of the Iranian regime, and proved the legitimacy of the Iranian resistance.

Iran: Amnesty International Urges Iranian Regime to Halt All Criminal and Inhumane Punishments

Human rights organisation Amnesty International has slammed Iran’s use of inhumane punishment such as blinding, flogging and amputation. It pointed out that every year hundreds of people are subjected to flogging, often in public, in Iran. 

Amnesty International recently reported the case of a journalist who was lashed 40 times earlier this month for not reporting the correct number of motorcycles the police have confiscated in a certain city.
